  • Hi All!!

Elder’s Meditation of the Day –
    July 26
“These are our times and our responsibilities. Every human
being has a sacred duty to protect the welfare of our Mother Earth, from whom
all life comes. In order to do this, we must recognize the enemy – the one
within us. We must begin with ourselves…”
    –Leon Shenandoah, ONONDAGA
The outside is merely a reflection of our insides. My mind is
designed to tell me that I’m not crazy for thinking what I am thinking. Even if
I have angry thought, my mind is giving me excuses and reasons why it is OK to
think what I’m thinking. I need to be knowledgeable about the laws of harmony
and balance. I cannot twist the laws to serve me but I can adjust my life to
serve the laws. This is the law – I am here to serve the earth. The earth is not
here for me to misuse and abuse.

Oh Great Spirit, allow me the insight and knowledge of how to
live in harmony and balance with my surroundings. Grant me change from within.

I have some more pictures; some are of my neighbor friend’s

morning glories (mine haven’t bloomed yet), some of my

orange rose, and some of next door neighbor’s petunias

    and morning glories.

I like how the centers illuminate, like the sun!!

    Orange rose

    Started like this

    Now looks like this!

It will bloom even bigger, will take more photos of it!
    Isn’t it beautiful?

    Neighbor’s flowers

I don’t have a lot to talk about, but our pool is popular.
The cats are growing and thriving-boy do they ever go through the food fast!
My daughter leaves for 3 week ‘counselor-in-training’ camp on Aug. 3rd.
I haven’t written much poetry lately, but hope my muse strikes up a
    conversation soon.

My neighbor friend, Sharon just loves the foot bath I gave her.
She works on her feet a lot, so I gave it to her as an
early birthday and Christmas present, to soothe
    her tired dogs.

Hope you all have a pleasant day today,
    and remember, when you’re down,
    to count your blessings!!

    I love you!!

  • I love morning glory can’t grow any it seems except for the wild kind. I can’t get rid of that. These are wonderul pictures and I like the elder meditation today. I love you Laurie, Judi

  • I love the morning glories.  The color is so vibrant….One of my favorite flowers.  Your neighbor has some beautiful flowers.

  • The flowers are really beautiful! Not much to talk about here either. Life rocks on along.

  • I love the morning glories!  I had a surprise in the pot I have geraniums in, that I brought from the old house (and last year’s geraniums!).  Two sprouts of morning glory vines have come up.  So I put the pot close to the fence so hopefully they will thrive and bloom!

  • Your pictures are wonderful, I always love flowers so much

    Have a wonderful week

  • ryc – yes, you are right. Its just sad when one desires people in their life yet no one wants to play with them. Not that they can’t be happy and have joy.

  • Lovely shots of the flowers.  Enjoy them, ours have just died right out because of the drought.

  • I would agree that you are here to respect the earth and to partner with the earth.  I would not agree that you are here to serve the earth.  With most issues in life, it is not an either/or or binary proprosition.  It is not to serve or to be served.  Usually there is a soft middle of the two extremes where truth and wisdom will reside.  One can work with the earth without being served by her or without serving her.  That is where we all should be.

  • Very beautiful! :sunny: Riding_Hood/Sunsetheart

  • LOL! But maybe you have some pictures from last year? I am sure DingDong’s picture is not from last week! But it is a good one!

  • RYC—me too…drifting away from politricks for a while???
