  • Love Can Make You Happy
    by Mercy

Wake up in the morning with the sunshine in your eyes
    And the smell of
    flowers blooming fills the air.
Your mind is filled with the thoughts of a
    certain someone – that you
    love;
Your life is filled with joy when she
    is there.

Love can make you happy if you find someone who cares
    To
giiiive a life time to you and who has a love to shaaare.

    If you think
you’ve found someone you’ll love fooorevermore,
    Then it’s worth the price
    you’ll have to pay (pay).
To have, to hold’s important when forever is the
    phrase
That means the love you’ve found is going to stay.

    Love can
make you happy if you find someone who cares
To giiiive a life time to you
and who has a love to share.

    La-love, la-love

    Love can make you
    happy.
    Love can make you happy.
    Love can make you happy.
    Love…

I love the above song, and remember when it came out,  I have it in my iTunes.

Sometimes I miss the feeling of being ‘in love’, although, to a certain extent, I am love.  I crave for the familiarity
of having a mate.  Am I in a hurry for this? No.   Do I need a man? No.  Do I want a man? Yes,
but I love my own company, I need my independence and having my own way.  I don’t know if I want my life interrupted and changed.  It’s a slippery slope kind of thing, I guess.  Do you understand what I mean?

More than 135 million women and girls worldwide have been affected by female
genital cutting (FGC), also called female circumcision.
    In countries across
Africa, the Middle East and Asia, girls as young as 4 years old are forced to
submit to this painful, unnecessary, and unsafe practice. Take action.

Infibulation, the most severe form of FGC, involves the removal of all
or part of the external genitalia, leaving only a small opening for urine and
menstruation. The cutting usually takes place between the ages of 4 and 12 and
can cause serious complications including severe bleeding, infection,
long-term difficulties with intercourse and childbirth, and even death.

Psychologically, cutting can cause tension between couples due to
painful or difficult sexual relations. And socially, cutting makes it harder for
girls to go to school or earn income by making them more likely to marry
    early.

We need the help of people like you. Speak out against this
    unnecessary and unsafe practice.

    By signing this petition today,
you’ll be raising awareness and taking a stand to stop the painful practice of
female genital cutting. Your name will be added to a list that will demonstrate
to key decision makers just how strong the opposition against FGC is.

We must do all we can to save these girls from a lifetime of pain and
    suffering. Start by
taking a stand against FGC. Sign today.

Thank you for making a difference today!

    Caustic wind
    braces hard
    the heart
    is still
    the
    knees
    are bowed.
    clashes carry
    war is sounded
    media lies
    one hundred
    dead in October
    blood shed
    for what we ask
    to stick our nose in
    where we aren’t wanted
    this country fails
    to understand
    we cannot place our government
    in another land.
    troops drug raw
    going three time back
    war weary and inconsolable.
why do we try to spread
    that which we lost?

  • I totally know what you mean!
    Very powerful poem too.

  • There are days when I think having a man around would be financially a good idea. I think it would be better to have more than that in a relationship…you know?

    Have a great Monday!

  • OMG!!!  I LOVE THAT SONG!!!  Yes, I totally understand what you are saying!!!   I hope you are having a great Monday!! Alicia :coolman:

  • Oh How I love that song too!!!  Great message in your post!!  Happy Monday to ya…Love ya!!

  • i’m not sure i agree with covey, smart as he is.  sometimes shit just flows into your life and being happy in the midst of shit is not easy or even possible sometimes.

  • I love the song too. I also understand you comment afterwards. Odd feeling isn’t it? I like my company, but I am lonely.

ryc – sure I enjoyed it. A once in a lifetime opportunity. I wasn’t passing it up. hahahaha It was just all clean Halloween party fun. Costumes help people be free sometimes. Not me of course. The woman with the crop. roflmao

The purple bowl was full of gummie Halloween candy: eyeballs, bugs, frogs, rats, and other such strange treats.

  • And if were male castration we would end up having to support Bush cause………..well, I don’t think I need to explain the plain and simple truth. Its a crime and the violent side of me says we should let the punishment fit the crime.

  • I always cring when I hear/think of that…:jealous::eek::(

I can so relate to being with someone…so relate.

  • You have new looks again!I like playing with the layout, but I do not know what to do with mine right now.

  • RYC… Thanks for the visit. No I don’t have that train anymore. I played my toys to death. And also thanks for the correction on Patty Play Pal. I couldn’t remember.

  • That sounds like me…I don’t NEED a man, but it’s sure nice wehen there is one around. :heartbeat:

  • Powerful words my friend:heartbeat:

  • We studied female circumcision when I was in Biology last year. There is no hygienic reason for the cutting, but rather a tribal or cultural thing. The sad part is, the pain the girls have to go through for this “ritual.” I think someone should put an end to this.

    Good evening

  • I’m a clit man myself and I feel anyone destroying this rosebud of nature should be shot — leave the ladies alone–that’s my 2 cents–new story posted –hope you like it –pls comment –ty

  • Good words to read tonight.  thank you.  ~Colleen

  • your poem and quote say it well……

  • Awesome poem…lovely post you’ve got going here today.

Yeah the whole co signing thing didnt work out. They called today and said the loan the bank was offering was at a 24% interest rate and that we had to go and sign some more papers. I told Michelle that I was very sorry but that was too high and I couldn’t do it. She was upset but said she understood and had to take it back. I feel bad but I guess it wasn’t mean to happen.

  • I saw  a show on Oprah about the FGC.  She had a famous black model from one of those countries who had managed to escape this ritual and was trying to save young girls from it.  Some cultures are soooo bizarre.

  • Your poetry is exquisite~!!!:heartbeat::):)

    Here’s to a fun & fanciful Halloween~!!!:):):)

    (((Hugs!!!)))

  • Hey Laurie,

love will find you. Searching for it usually never works out. Let it come to you. In the mean-time…enjoy yourself…find out more about yourself. I know you’ve lived in the same old body and felt the same old emotions for as long as the good lord has had you on earth but there is always more to discover about yourself! Open new doors…they are there to be opened!!!!!

As for the poetry you left us, it is sad! It is true!

  • I am making the Fools Round, seeing who are the festive, dressed up ones and who are the  duds like me! Have a good day Laurie!

  • Happy Halloween babe!

  • good morning!! to you!   where the heck everybody go?  it’s kinda quiet on my side. CREEPY.

  • This genital mutilation always makes me so sad.  When I was part of the Vagina Monologues several years ago in college, there was a tear-inducing monologue devoted to the topic.  Thank you for sharing that with us and making us more aware.  I wish there was more that could be done about it.  Knowledge is the first step, though.  As for wanting and needing love, I understand.  I’m lucky to be happily married, and I haven’t been single since high school.  I remember yearning, but I was never ready for somebody else until I loved myself and was comfortable in my own skin.  This is the advice I give to my uncle and friends – love yourself and others will love you.  I know you love yourself.  I imagine you are doing so much without that other person.  And now I’m rambling.  Happy Halloween and Samhain to you!

  • There is a old saying. ” The only thing worse than being alone by ones self is to be alone while with some one else”  I can assure you as you clean your self out of old ussless value systems and uncover that Goddess within that the universe hates a vaccuum and will  fill it with you soul mate

I have seen it many  times over and over, but it takes time, but it’s worth the waite. You might have to go through a few wanna bees first. Just don’t be afread to discard them when you see the red flags and fast.  Thats the advantage of experence.

  • I like your poem . Peace !

And love that makes happy .

Thanks for your wish message Laurie .

    Love     Michel
