We get sick of going on about the weather, but we’re getting our Indian Summer here!
(Minnesota) Highs in the 60′s-’nuff said.November 7, 2006
“It’s been like the ten
plagues that God inflicted on the Egyptians until they would let Moses lead the
Jews to the “Promised Land.”Except, it’s been a lot more than ten.
We’ll name a few for starters: Greed, Hidden Lust, Profiteering off of
Death, Arrogance, Lying, Deception, Selfishness, Spite, Vengeance, Bearing False
Witness, Demagoguery, Preying Upon Fear, Betrayal, Trickery, Gross Incompetence,
and on and on.Oh, it’s a lot more than ten.
We’ve been counting
them, like BuzzFlash readers, in dismay for six years as they have been
inflicted upon America. We don’t know how Election Day 2006 will end. We
can only, as we have the last three election cycles, hope and work for the best. And that is what we have perhaps missed for so many years, we have
almost forgotten how it feels: hope.”Can We Put an End to the Countless Plagues of
Bushevism? — A BuzzFlash

I’m just keeping my fingers crossed. Since it is even difficult to trust the vote counting process in many Republican-controlled states (Ohio, Indiana, Florida, Texas), there’s plenty to be afraid of…

Oh God said to Abraham, “Kill me a son”
Abe says, “Man, you must be puttin’ me on”
God say, “No.” Abe say, “What?”
God say, “You can do what you want Abe, but
The next time you see me comin’ you better run”
Well Abe says, “Where do you want this killin’ done?”
God says, “Out on Highway 61.”
WOW…i made the top 30 on your post for a change:lol:
i predicted a GOP walkover two years ago simply because Democrats DON’T vote…and i’m expecting the GOP to be a lot closer than the polls indicate this year for the same reason:eek:
RYC—i was expecting you to be Amazon used booking Jew Girl after 10 pages:shysmile:
If I had to guess, I might put some money on you voting Democrats.
But only, say 1.000.000$, no more.

I told a friend of mine on Myspace about the poetry contest.
Hopefully she’ll enter the contest.
I may have to sit this one out. Wouldn’t want to ruin anyone else’s chances of winning…
.
I’ve got the flu, but I still voted yesterday! When I went to bed, it was looking very positive in favor of us Democrats (Yay!). I’m hoping it was that way across the states. I guess I should turn on the TV…but I like the quiet too much this morning. Have a great day Laurie!
Brightest Blessings to you!
I’m just going to have to add you to my subs. Hope that’s sets well.
This is probably a case of the right thing happening, but for the wrong reasons. The reason shouldn’t be because Bush can’t be believed, but because of what the Democrats will do. But what will the Democrats do about Guantanamo Bay? That is one of the most hideous eyesores of the country where we have lost so much respect from the rest of the world. What will the Democrats do about Iraq? What about Palestine/Israel conflict? What about working in collaboration with other countries rather than competition? What about health care?
I’m not convinced that these are the reasons that the Democrats won. But if the Democrats had worked up agendas on these issues, they should have been the reasons. I’m not convinced we’re going to see much turn-around changes. The biggest change will be to put the brakes on Bush’s authoritarianism. And that is needed and will be good. Hopefully we can deal with issues based on values rather than corporate or political powers. But I’ve been hopeful before.
Politics is a but overrated…maybe it’s because I am British, I don’t know.
