  • It was Friday morning, (Aug. 1st)  I believe when my daughter asked me if I was ok.
I looked up at her and said, it feels like I have been holding my breath.  She said I was breathing very fast.  She immediately called 911, and got the ball rolling.

I had had 2 strange nosebleeds the previous 2 mornings, and felt some ‘fluttering’ in my chest.  I also took Tums, as my stomach was upset.  (Womens’ complaints for attacks is so different from men’s!)  I think I was in the midst of a heart attack.  Trisha was so upset, she started going hysterical, and one of the EMT’s had to calm her down.

In the hospital, I was asked many questions, and I remember being ‘painted down’
with the antiseptic.  I remember something being said about DNR, and I agreed with it.
After this, it’s mostly blind space, as the anesthetic started taking hold.  Apparently
what happened during this time, is I went into full cardiac arrest, but they
    thankfully brought me back.

I don’t know if I first awoke in ICU, or if it was in my room, but I was told
I’d had a triple bypass heart operation.

My son, who is stationed in Navy, in Hawaii, and his family came up here when they heard about me.  Here we had just seen them in July.

I have been in quite a bit of pain, but I still manage to get a short walk in every day.  the meds help a lot.

The staples come out of my leg today-they went in and took around 6 veins, for my heart.

I feel I have been given a second chance, as if this go-round I will be more aware
of what’s important, and what’s not.  There are so many petty things we worry about,
so much trouble we make for ourselves.  I am here to say that love and giving are top priority on my list.

Thank you all for your kind wishes and thoughts, you all mean so much to me!!

    I love you!!
